Wroclaw Philharmonic, Pilsudskiego 19
Having built its well-recognized brand for eleven years now, Jazztopad moves to the National Forum of Music – one of the most important concert venues in Europe. The long-awaited moment has come, and we can give our listeners and our artists optimal conditions for celebrating improvisation.
This year also sees the premiere of William Parker’s CD featuring For Those Who Are Still (AUM) and the premiere of the Charles Lloyd Wild Man Dance (Blue Note). Both albums feature works commissioned by Jazztopad in 2013 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival. These are events without precedence on the map of Polish jazz festivals. I am so happy that the most important musicians in jazz history write new works for us and release them on best labels.
Directions: Nearest airport: Wroclaw Strachowice. Wroclaw Philharmonic Hall is 20 minutes by taxi from the airport.
